A Birthday Tribute to Steven (4th June 2o1o)

I made this 11 years ago for Steven’s birthday, featuring characters associated with him like Android 17, Hwoarang/Iron, Yun-seong, etc. and I’m his girl, Seong Mi-Na! πŸ’š

My penname at the time was Saria Necile aka Sallie for short, as a sort of play off of how my friends called me Allie short for Alexandria, my birth name.

A fun coincidence is that one of our songs is β€œI think we’re alone now” by Tiffany, and later we dedicated β€œKiss you all over” by Exile to one another to eventually find out that Tiffany covered it! πŸ˜€

WIP: Carnation, Amy, and Leopold (CotMS)

(From left to right: Carnation, Amy, and Leopold from our Gothic novel, Curse of the Mystic Sword.) πŸ₯€πŸ’€πŸ₯€

I’ve been rearranging the apartment, since I realised I have a lot of space in my room (technically a large walk-in closet), so I have been taking my boxes of old stuff from the hallway, and putting them into my room.

Naturally, I’ve been going thru some of the boxes as I do so, and was happy to rediscover my art book from 2015-2016 (when we resided at the Victorian mansion), which I thought was lost forever! I was so grateful to find it – tysm, God! πŸ™‡πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜‡

I also found a very large sketchbook with this trio inside its pages; what’s so special, as well as rare, about this is, all three of us drew this together – I drew Carnation, Micky @octobernocturne drew Amy, and Rob @timewillcrawl94 drew Leopold! πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨πŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸŽ¨πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨

They’re in Curse of the Mysic Sword, a Gothic novel we’ve been writing since Autumn, 2006. Carnation is an independent woman, ever at odds with Leopold, who – unbeknownst to her – is a vampyre, as is his adopted daughter, Amy. 🌹πŸ₯€πŸ¦‡πŸ₯€πŸŒΉ

(… we’re gonna need a bigger scanner! πŸ˜†)

One More Night (versions 1 & 2) – Sakon-kun x Kage (Soul Calibur/Soul of Eternity)

So… in 2015, I made this greyscale vid of Sakon-kun and Ukon-san fighting Tira and her partner, with snippets of my OC, Kage, from Soul Calibur IV.

I kept this video private/unlisted on my channel since then, until just this morning I decided it’d be cool to put it on Tiktok (for some random reason – been in a Sakon-kun mood lately), and I edited it to have my favourite effect being “Neon” (makes it all rainbow-y/rave-y).

Here’s version 1 and version 2, as seen on YouTube:

Which one do you like better? Do you prefer something with colour, or do you enjoy the noir style of greyscale videos?

Funny thing about that, my Gramma, bless her soul in Heaven, said she always dreamt in black and white like the movies she’d watch.

Thanks for watching! πŸ’š

…always in threes…

~*I’d love to walk away and pull myself out of the rain
But I can’t leave without you
I’d love to live without the constant fear and endless doubt
But I can’t live without you*~

Having a lot of feels about this song (particularly this version, which I’m captivated by) … Strange thing, coincidences that come in threes … So I associate this song with Yoshimitsu-sensei from the Soul Calibur video games: Yoshimitsu I, that is – β€œmy” Yoshi-san – and thus, our OC Puck-sensei who was inspired by Yoshi-sensei when we wrote a crossover series between our main graphic novel story and SC (Puck-sensei is what Yoshimitsu-sensei is renamed to from my SC fanfics that I’m also adapting into an original graphic novel too) … And today I’ve been listening to this song, and saw that the Yoshimitsu fansite is going to re-open on December 8th, so roughly a little over 100 days from now – okay, I can wait … Then I noticed when going back to edit stuff on my art blog that I had uploaded the pic of β€œPuck’s Shadow” on December 8th 2019 … Kinda odd, but okay … then just now to share this song after listening to it on repeat for hours and hours, I looked it up to copy the lyrics from the original recording, and saw that the β€œMy Immortal” single from Fallen was released on December 8th 2003 … If you read through all that – thanks! I have NO IDEA what any of it means, but … WOW! Funny cos I mentioned how most things seem to β€œcome in threes” just the other day to Micky.

The Legend of Jokul Frosti

The frost coated everything in sight. Like a shimmering white blanket it lay draped over leaf, twig and soil. The spectacle brought a hush to the usual bustle of early morning; for the brief time that the frost was here, a silence that only winter could bring hovered in the air. There were leaves scattered […]

The Legend of Jokul Frosti

A beautiful article on Jokul Frosti aka Jack Frost in folklore, whom inspires our OC, Jokul Frosti, as well as his Jack Frost ‘brothers’ (there’s a Frost spirit for each region in our stories). ❄

New watermark signature

Hi guys! Alexandria aka Sha here! This is my new watermark signature. πŸ’•

So the story behind this: my birth name is Alexandria, and one of my pet names from my brothers and friends in RL is Nabi – which is a Korean name and word meaning, “Butterfly”, although tis more commonly what Koreans call their cats (like how we go, “Kittycat”, or “Here, kitty, kitty” in the West)… thus, that’s me as Nabi – a butterfly kittycat – in front of my birth name. =^.^= πŸ¦‹πŸˆπŸ’•

(Also my childhood nickname Sha in Korean means, “Girl”, and is pronounced the same way as the French word for, “Cat”, so… I already had the cat motif going on! πŸˆπŸ’•)

Why do I care about something Korean when I’m not Korean? Well, my first boyfriend Steven is Korean/Eurasian, and I’m writing a webcomic that stars a French-Korean OC based on Soul Calibur, so I read about Korea and Korean name meanings for writing purposes and general curiousity. :3 βš”οΈπŸ€ΊπŸ›‘οΈπŸ’•

Anyways, hope you all like my watermark signature and the little story behind it! πŸ’•

BTS: Sakon-kun

My OC, Sakon, is an adapted version of Sakon from Soul Calibur IV who is one of Yoshimitsu’s confidantes – in 2009 I used to write a whole fanfic series based around the Manji clan, and since 2015 I’ve been rewriting those fics into an original series with help from Mikau dude @octobernocturne πŸŽƒ
That’s also around the time I got into Japanese music band BUCK-TICK thanks to Mikau, and fell hard for Hidehiko Hoshino who became an inspiration and face-claim for Sakon cos of their similar facial features between the game Sakon and Hidebear, as I affectionately call Hide. 🐻
OC Sakon is also inspired by my other crush at the time, Sam Winchester from Supernatural, and was given Sammy’s actor Jared Padalecki’s birthday too (July 19th). πŸ₯°
I admit, between the way me and Mikau co-write our OC Sakon, that he’s my de facto ‘ideal man’, even if reception from those close to me has been negative… Kinda like how Naoko Takeuchi wrote Mamoru Chiba aka Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon as her ideal man, and her friends couldn’t stand him, heh. πŸ˜…

Puck’s Shadow

Kagemitsu {Jung Sha-Mina} and her master, Puck, from Soul of Eternity, inspired by my old Soul Calibur fanfic novel series. πŸ’œ

Confessions of an artist: I admit I traced over a screenshot I took of Acchan from the music video, “Romance”, by BUCK-TICK to draw Puck here… B-T is a HUGE inspiration for Puck, Kage and the rest of the Eternity clan aside from being inspired by Yoshimitsu, the fanfic version of Kage, and the Manji clan from Soul Calibur.

Edit – August 21st, 2021 – I found this description from my old art blog:

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

A proto-type design for Sha-Mina, and her master, Puck-sensei.

This was produced during a brief time period during the Summer of 2015 that my siblings β€” unfortunately β€” asked me to have my old series of Soul Calibur fanfics cross-over with our main graphic novel series that we had been writing for years, with them requesting I rewrite everything completely to be original, and set in the modern age, which honestly ended up butchering the entire concept and point of my series. -_-

I was hurt, but grateful when it was retconned; however, it ended in tears and me distancing myself away from the rest of the group to try and salvage what was left of my stories and pride. A painful time to look back on, but at least something came out of it. I may still go forward with an original series … but I just wish it could’ve come about a different way.

This version of Puck was slightly β€” okay rather quite a bit β€” younger than he is actually supposed to be; with more of a pressure on this pairing to happen … whereas I never originally wrote them to be this way … but, still, it made for an interesting work of art, I suppose … β™‘

Works In Progress//Alternate Versions:

Brothers-in-arms

Ukon and Sakon of the Eternity clan, a group of chivalrous ninja-thieves, from my story, Soul of Eternity, inspired by my old Soul Calibur fanfic novel series.

Edit – August 21st, 2021 – I found this description from my old art blog:

Ukon and Sakon! n_n β™‘

Two of my favourites to write, and draw {especially Ukon}!

Ukon, on the left {stern look}, is Puck’s right-hand man, and next to him is his brother-in-arms, Sakon {with the unkempt hair}, who is Puck’s left-hand man {I suppose this makes him the third-in-command?} β€” the both of whom are Puck’s confidants.

Those who already know I’m taking my old Soul Calibur//Manjitou fanfic novels and rewriting them into an original on-going webcomic series will recognise these two as Ukon and Sakon who travel with Yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur IV β€” you can even play as Ukon to help Yoshi-san out!πŸ˜€

So why haven’t I changed their names?

Well, as it were, β€œUkon” and β€œSakon” are actually such titles for a {military} samurai leader’s second-in-command men; thus, no problems with keeping their β€œnames” the same, especially since it’s just for a webcomic.

For those wondering about these guys β€” Ukon is the older one, and the both of them have been with Puck ever since he formed the Eternity clan.

The younger warrior Sakon is quiet, but reckless, and prefers to fight than talk, as opposed to the intellectual, level-headed Ukon who looks after Sakon; and later Puck’s assistant, Sha-Mina, when she joins the clan, as if they were his own younger brother and sister.

Ukon faces a grave danger later on in the series that ultimately changes his life forever; whilst Sakon foolishly falls head-over-heels in love with his master’s apprentice, Sha-Mina {who is blissfully unaware of his feelings}, much to the over-protective Puck’s disapproval.

Both of them train new members of the Eternity clan.
